Prepare files in CMYK using the FOGRA39 (ISO Coated v2) profile. Not sure? We can convert it for you — just note that converting from RGB can shift the colours slightly from what you see on screen.
Every image and graphic in your artwork should be at least 300 dpi at final size. Anything much lower prints soft or pixelated. (Upload your file above and we'll check the resolution for you instantly.)
Trimming can deviate very slightly, so:
Minimum font size is 6 pt. Fonts must be embedded or outlined. Small black text should be 100% black (C0 M0 Y0 K100) so it prints crisp rather than fuzzy.
Please proofread carefully — we don't check spelling or typos.
Lines should be at least 0.25 pt. Reversed-out (negative) lines should be at least 0.5 pt, or they can fill in on press.
Keep total ink coverage below 300%. In Photoshop, convert images to CMYK with a 260% ink limit (Convert to Profile → Photoshop 5 Default CMYK). Too much ink can smudge and slows drying.
Stacks are trimmed together, so there's always a small cutting tolerance. It's usually unnoticeable — but a thin border makes it obvious. On anything smaller than A4 (210 × 297 mm), avoid borders narrower than 20 mm, or the design can end up looking off-centre.
